The whole BCG is over analyzed by alot of outfits including LMT.

What can't they just make a regular Colt/GI grade bolt carrier? This works 100% of the time.

Instead they brought us the "enhanced bolt and carrier" and do proprietary undercuts on their bolt lugs. Now they are tampering with the coating inside the carrier.

If LMT wants to improve, they can start using taper pins on their barrels or start profiling their barrels correctly.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with a properly made USGI carrier.

The TDP is an entry level/minimum spec (as you know) so I NEVER fault a company for trying to improve upon it.

While I do not think much of the LMT enhanced Bolt, I love the enhanced carrier and use it in my 10.5.

I also prefer (GREATLY) LMT's straight pins (from an AR builders standpoint).

The TDP calls out Carpenter Steel. I cannot gurantee that is what they use, but would assume so.

I'm not against improvement, but we have not seen any improvement. All we get is stuff like this:

I do not trust any BCG other than Colt no matter how much money is costs or how "advanced/enhanced" it is.

Nobody ever really has any complaints about a Colt BGC. That says alot right there.

I do not think I would use JP as an example of a company trying improve the reliability of the bolt (as they are a gun game company).

According to Crane, Colt bolts can start to crack as soon as 5k (under FA use). I would classify that as a problem and we need to find a bolt that will give a much longer life.

Companies like KAC and LMT are actually try to improve the reliabilty (which I am a fan of).
