    Sig/Safariland/X300 ALS Holster Question

    I have a SIG 226R and a Surefire X300

I want an ALS holster for it.

My question is will the P226R fit in a ALS holster made for the X300 light without the light attached or do I need to buy two holsters? One that can accommodate the X300 and one that can accommodate the P226 without the X300?

I don't know about the Sig model but my Glock 22 fits in (and locks in) my ALS duty holster without the light attached. Sorry i can't help anymore than that. Good luck.

BTW I have the 6360 with the hood/sentry and like it a lot.

There is a fight, that began before any of us were ever born. It will continue, long after we have retired, moved on, and left this world. It is a fight for the soccer mom next door, your mailman, the guy that bags your groceries, and most importantly, it is a fight for your family. We are in a daily battle not for land, not for resources or colonial controls...we are in a fight for our very way of life

The ALS system locks into the ejection port of the pistol. They work just fine without an attached light.

The ALS for a Sig with a light will work when the light is detached but it has a LOT of slop when you do so.

It varies by brand and model. If you go to the Safariland website and check their "Will Fit" guide, it's very specific about whether a light is required or not for their light-capable holsters.

For example, my M&P9 ALS holster works equally well with and without the light, but others won't hold the gun properly unless the light is attached.

Their pdf says a P226R without a light will work in an ALS 6320/6325 made for a light.

Anyone have any comment about this?
