I am in the same boat as you, gonna swap for a Troy rear I believe since I am gonna run optics and want a clear field of view.

How does your charging handle fit, does it latch into the upper? Mine wont latch and DD is sending me a new one to see if its the handle or the upper.

    jdavis,

Good looking rifle. You set it up similar to what I like on my carbines. Vortex, Ergo, Tango down. I do prefer the fixed BUIS with the RDS. Anyway, you set it up how you liked it and everything looks realistic and functional. That's all that matters. If I had the money I've wasted over the years on dressing up firearms I'd buy a new 4X4 for cash.

I've got 2 DD carbines and have been considering switching out one like you did. There's nothing wrong with the rail. But I've never specifically ordered a 12 inch either.

If anyone is interested in swapping out one with me for a nice DD or new style Troy with the sling swivel receptacles let me know. If Troy though I'll need a barrel nut as well.

Mines coming with a 12" DD Lite rail on it and I have a 10" Lite rail on my RRA, if it turns out I like the 10" better I'll just swapem and the the 12 goe with the RRA.

I did the same thing, almost.
I bought my DDM4 from ADCO and it has the regular M4 hanguards and a regular six position stock.
However, I did because it dropped the price considerably, and thats what I needed to be able to afford a tier 1 AR.
I am going to eventually put MOE hanguards and a CTR stock on, as well as an aimpoint and light.
With the money I saved, I bought 2 surefire G2s, mags and ammo, allowing me to shoot the gun more, which I see as more important.
    Terry.
