    Advantages of Stainless BCG

Would like to know if there are advantages/disadvantages to a stainless BCG. Anyone have experience running one? Definately more expensive, but is it worth the price?

I can't think of any real advantage. Maybe easier to clean, but the carbon steel BCG's aren't really difficult in that regard. I certainly wouldn't pay more for stainless.

Spend your money on a good quality BCG (LMT/Colt/BCM) and you'll be ready to go.

I've never heard of a stainless BCG. But I agree, just stick to the proven formula.

I think JP makes one. They also make lots of other products I have no interest in

I'll throw in my 2 cents for a chrome BCG.

    - reduced friction. Why do you think POF and LWRC use them?
    - MUCH easier to clean. Shoot a SBR, suppressed SBR, or 5.45 upper with nasty Russian surplus ammo and tell me how a normal BCG works out for cleaning.

I'm convinced that shooting a suppressed DI AR will make the BCG 5-10 times dirtier than unsuppressed. I can wipe off a chrome BCG with a paper towel.

Sure, a standard BCG from a quality supplier will work fine, but why not spend the extra $30 and make your life easier???

He said stainless steel...not chrome plated carbon steel. Completely different animals.

Well if nothing else my rant served as an opportunity to champion the merits of a chrome BCG.

It's cool. I bought a Young's BCG also. I hate cleaning guns, so the chrome is nice.
I also just dropped $300 on one of those new Fail Zero BCG's for my 10.5" LMT
