Magpul UBR stock: mil-spec buffer tube?

Does this stock fit a mil-spec or commercial buffer tube?

Does that mean that I need to get extra parts to put it on a mil-spec AR. I am kind of a n00b.

    Thanks!

No, what it means is that when you purchase a UBR it comes with all the necessary hardware and you have to install the whole kit.

You will not need the receiver extension (buffer tube) on your rifle. Magpul uses their own unique tube for the UBR and it is included with the stock.

If I'm not mistaken, the UBR receiver extension is not completely proprietary to Magpul. It is an entry-length receiver extension, which is also used with the Rock River Entry Stock and the Sully Stock.

You still need a buffer and a recoil spring.

Yes, but that would come with the original complete rifle, correct?

Yes. If you're installing the new stock and receiver extension onto an existing complete rifle, you can use the existing buffer and spring.

Note: The UBR requires a carbine buffer and spring, not rifle length.
