    Amen...

Would a case over this type of issue go to trial by jury?

I have issues with the concept of putting someone on trial for what could or might happen based on the considerations and interpretation of others. The thought of someone getting into legal trouble due to their 'potential' is rather concerning.

Virtually every day I have the means and opportunity to commit crimes. I have no intent to, so the concept of going to trial for potential really sours my stomach.

    Sorry, mini rant...

I was in this exact situation a few months ago. I mailed off two Form 1's to register two lowers as SBRs. I have 2 COMPLETE 16" ARs, and one 14.5" with pinned FH. I bought a 10.5" incomplete LMT upper on gunbroker because I saw a great deal (well, great for the current times we live in that is).

I have just made sure to keep the 10.5" upper in a different room than my rifles, and didn't put the bolt/BCG or CH in the upper either. I have ZERO intentions of doing anything illegal. I am still waiting on my F1's to be mailed back to me approved. Should be receiving them this week (received my Form 4 yesterday).

As long as you don't do anything stupid or illegal, and aren't a drug dealer or other kind of criminal, and aren't a piece of crap who beats your wife and have the cops come out to your house, than I don't think you have anything to worry about.

    That's just my take.

I like your thinking. It will have to be a hearty tree!

    hahaha

I was the same way. Im a very impatient person and once I saw Noveske had thier 10.5in barrels instock, I bought one while my Form 1 was still at the ATF. The barrel stayed hidden in the back of my gun closet. Never had problems, and we do it all over again.

I think people should STFU and do private things in the privacy of their home.

Everyone knows the deal. Proceed how you see fit. Big boy choices have big boy risks.

If I had the chance to score a nice deal on an SBR barrel or upper, I wouldn't pass it up while the ATF dragged ass approving my papers.
