    S&W M&P15OR Factory Problems/Recalls

Hi I just registered. Very nice forum you guys have here. I searched left and right, up and down for information on the S&W M&P15OR and all I can find is very nice pictures and price ranges.

I can't find the information I need. I please need new and updated various personal opinions from you guys about the quality an manufacture quality of S&W M&P15OR. The reson for this is because I just bought one last night NIB and it makes a rattle noise. At first I thought it was the stock. But when I checked it carefully I find out that the rattle noise is coming from the upper and the lower receiver. There is a space between the lower and the upper and that is what is causing the rattle noise. It feels a little loose and I can even wiggle the two parts and they will move slightly from eachother. Do you know what I mean?

Is this normal in this S&W M&P15OR AR-15's? I have a Bushmaster XM15 and it does not make any noise at all and it seals perfectly between the upper and the lower.

So did I just bought a S&W M&P15OR that is defective or is this problem normal in this S&W M&P15OR AR's ? Thanks for any help and comment.

It's perfectly normal some AR's have looser uppper/lower fit than others. The more important questions is how reliably does it shoot.

    My MP15OR does not rattle.

    Even brand new AR's rattle?

So, even a brand new in box AR-15 can rattle? Even a S&W ? Because I paid $1,000 for this new riffle and it seems ridiculous that it doesn't have a perfect fit/assembly.

Is there anything I can do to eliminate that nasty rattle ? I really hate it, I will never buy another S&W brand firearm. This is the first time I buy S&W and I am very dissapointed. My Bushmaster its perfect unlike this new MP15.

Thanks for the repply. Any advice on how to fix or deal with the rattling? Thank you so much.

Easy fix- List your crappy S&W on the board here for sale for @ 900.00 and go out and buy yourself another Bushmaster- or you could just get an accuwedge.(Sorry I'm in a Sarcastic mood)
The S&W is a better rifle (IMO) the rattling means nothing...

I am not loosing $100 without even shooting the damn crappy S&W AR I got first...lol. Once I shoot the crap out of it, I probably will. Plus the same S&W MP15 Im taking about its selling for $1250 right now. It just happen that I put in in layway since December and I just pay it off.

But between the Bushmaster & the S&W, my Bushmaster is perfect/flawless. But then again I haven't shot the S&W yet. Im just talking about the built and fiting of the rifle. Im going to check that "accuwedge" thing. I dont want to carry around a $1k rifle that ratles like an old car.

And if this freaking wheelchair doesn't make me mad, what makes you think your funny sarcasm will? lol.

Anyway, I expected better things from S&W, since lots of people has them in a pedestal. I am really dissapointed of S&W.

    Hey, Im from Cleveland, Ohio.
    Thanks for the reply.

OK I went to the safe and pulled out my M&P15R- I have the carry handle attached and moving it side to side creates movement between the receivers- gun runs 100%.
Accuwedge will take care of this movement- does nothing for accuracy as the name implies- but I don't put anything inside my guns that wasn't part of the original design- aside from Geissele triggers.

I live near Grand lake on the west side of the state- actually I can see Indiana from my property.

Thanks God its a normal thing. I take back the crap I said about S&W. I freaked out...lol. Knowing that its not a deffect makes me feel good now about the rifle. I always wanted a S&W brand firearm on my collection. Everyone says great things about S&W. Like I said, I haven't shot it yet but Im sure it will work great.

I want to put a Spider Flare Launcher on it, since I can't put a granade launcher on it.

    This is the video of some of my guns collection on youtube;

Thanks for helping me out on my issue with my new Ar. Thanks.
