    To back-up what USMC03 said...

    When I am engaging a small number of targets many times at close range, a VFG provides more control = faster follow-up shots.

    When I am engaging a larger number of targets with fewer shots each, grasping the far end of a long fore-end is faster.

    Put another way, when the situation is dominated by target transitions & acquisition, grasping the tube is faster. When the situation is dominated by re-engaging the same targets 3+ times, the VFG is faster.

    My next build is VERY close to what you have there but I think I'll use a POF billet lower. Other than that you're is pretty much what I had in mind.

    My understanding of a vfg is to control full auto fire in quick close engagment.
    I use it for manipulating my x200 light cap with my thumb. thats my reason until I obtain class III status.
