[QUOTE=gotm4;369218]The simple fact that the DD has 1x7 hammer forged barrel, and a great trigger QUOTE]

Ok i like DD as much as the next guy and by all accounts they have made a good rifle, but could we maybe drink a little less of the koolaid and not pad our comments. I have never seen anywhere (and I looked) that the DD M4 has a hammer forged barrel, that would be a big selling point and its not listed under the guns details on their site, next yours may have a great trigger but it is still a standard AR Trigger its not a JP, or Geislee (SP?) so how Great is it, great in terms of normal AR triggers could just mean it doesnt suck.

That aside if I could find one I might be interested it looks good but I'll stick with my Colt, and S&W VTAC

The DD rifles don't currently have hammer forged barrels, but they are supposed to be offering them as an extra cost option soon.

It is hammer forged as will be their 10.3" barrels. I've shot 3 DD rifles and have handled about 25. All had triggers that smoke all factory single stage triggers. Great as in 4.5-5.5lbs with little creep and a nice crisp break. Perhaps you should actually handle a DD rifle before dismissing someones actual experience. For the record I don't own a DD rifle.

    Robb,

Why doesn't DD mention the fact that their barrels are hammer forged? Hell, I have one and was unaware of that.

Thats what I'd like to know, it seems like a HUGE selling point, IF DD's M4 has them why is that not listed in the specs? Seems odd to me. Sorry Got M4 But alas you are right I have not shot one but have handled one seemed nice good stuff, i'll trust your judgement on the triggers, but until I see cold hammer forged listed buy the company making the rifle I'll be skeptical about that.

Don't know since I don't work for them. At work I have a post card thing they sent to us just before SHOT, it mentions hammer forged 16" and 10.3" barrels. I'm off work until Monday recovering from my hand surgery. I'll look for that card from DD on Monday.

It also mentions the hammer forged barrel here too just searching on Google.

So we know DD is producing hammer forged barrels in house, but they do not list it as a feature of the DDM4. Hopefully it will be an option in the future.

Thanks for the info. Another positive note.

So mine will be making it's way here shortly.

    With a few changes

    DD 12" Lite Rail FDE
    Vltor Emod Stock FDE
    Magpul Moe Grip FDE
I'll add a front Flip sight once I decide which one I want, I'll prolly swap out the rear BUIS for an LMT, and add an Aimpoint but I'm unsure which one at this point.

If it is true that would be awsome for the price, I'll wait to see when DD publishes the information publicly.
