I'm neutral on the piston issue, and luke warm on the Ruger issue. I hope that in the end we have a couple of very well engineered, reliable, long lasting piston guns with no bugs or issues. Maybe then I'll look into acquiring one.

    Buwahahahahahaha! Now that's funny.

Seriously though, I'm with Templar. RUGER is now making an AR! Whoda thunk it? The more traditional "fudd" companies that start making stuff like this the better. I hope fudds by them in droves so Ruger keeps making them.

If 1:9 and commercial receiver extensions are an issue, write or call them and see if they'll change 'em up. Ya never know...

Yep. At $2 Grand a pop, I can just see more people going to DPMS, Stag, RRA, etc. I just don't see these becoming too popular unless they lower the price...significantly.

I agree with the first part. Seems like it's been that way since...03 or so. Everyone from Aamtec Arms to ZM Weapons has their name on the side of an AR, it seems.

Specs say cold hammer forged chrome lined 41V45 barrels. Wasn't someone talking earlier about how awesome it would be if they could get a cold hammer forged barrel in an AR?

Are they atoning for earlier sins by offering THREE 30 rd mags? Sorry we wouldn't sell you anything but neutered mags before. Have some PMags.

Why don't more manufacturers chrome the bolt and bolt carrier? I've been wondering about that for a long time. Looks like they've machined the carrier to address tilt issues.

10" Troy rail. Which makes this a middy, I suppose. I wonder how it's recoil impulse feels compared to a carbine length piston AR.

I know I'm laughing because it's Ruger putting out an AR, but at the proposed price point, with their name recognition in the market, I have to think that this thing is going to sell pretty well. Even at MSRP it's already a few hundred under the LWRC, right?
    Principles matter.

I really like seeing another AR maker out there. I hope Procter& Gamble and Whirlpool come out with them too. Seems to me that the more of them out there the tougher it's going to be for the Left to "mess" with them.
The extreme rush to buy up anything "black" these past few months is certainly not going unnoticed by our domestic enemies.

After 40 years we now have two dozen companies that have halfway fixed the upper receiver of the AR platform. When is someone going to tackle the screwed up lower receiver?
