I agree with Tim. Remington and Ruger producing AR's can only help.
Looks ok. I don't care for the flash suppressor though!

I'll consider them serious when they come out with an 11.5in SBR model.

I know there is the cleanliness advantage (supposedly) with a piston, but to me the other half is having the option of a foldable stock. Do any of these AR pistons have that, or do they all still use the reciever extension, spring and buffer?
I just did two lines of powdered wig powder, cranked up some Lee Greenwood, and recited the BoR. - Outlander Systems

    Article on Ruger's new SR-556 AR-15

We had a chance to test Ruger's new SR-556 last week. Here's a first look at it

    http://www.tacticalgunfan.com/index....d=538&Itemid=1

Very nicely made and designed piece with three patents on the gas system.
Very controllable on rapid fire. Practical accuracy is excellent.

Video of it during testing will up soon..........

All of these piston guns retain the buffer tube and spring.

If you want a folding stock consider an XCR, or FN SCAR

I think I will head down to my fav dealer and put a deposit on one of these. I am liking what I see so far and with a street price of $1600-1700, the price is right compared to LWRC's mid-length M6A3 which clocks in at a whooping $2600

Unfortunately the internet seems to be rife with people that think anything over a grand is highway robbery for a semi-automatic rifle no matter what.
NOT in training for combat deployment.

Lots are probably buyers of the lower end AR's, AK's and surplus bolt actions...
