Have Fun, Be Safe
Hard to go wrong with it. I like the 20" barrel length. The low price makes throwing the rather pedestrian stock away a bit easier. Now you have me thinking.......how will the wife feel about me starting a third rifle build? JAE Stock? There is a Leupold sitting around here somewhere that would be perfect! Where is my credit card?
Good rifle, good price, lots of fun or serious use, whichever one applies.

Its a great rifle for the money and a good base to build one.
This is a real nice firearm. Out of the box on sand bags I was grouping 3 shots inside an inch at 100yards. I put a Leupold Mark 4 4.5X14 LRT MTR on it and handload 168gr Hordany bullets and have tight groups out to 300yards. I am working on getting to 800 yards now and boy what fun.

It's a great rifle! I just picked one up at the last gun show here in Raleigh for a change from my ARs. I have not fired it yet, but from what I hear, it is very accurate. I love the trigger, even out of the box. It has almost no creep and breaks like glass.

I bought one as "project gun" to thread for a can. Dropped it in a 700P stock and put it through it's paces. After a few range sessions I ended up selling my LTR as the SPS edged it out in accuracy and I had no need for 2 20" .308's.
It's a great base rifle and I have no complaints versus the LTR (except for the stock, obviously - but if you plan to swap that out the differences are very minor).
Nice way to get ggod bbl'd action. The stock is not very good though so plan on dumping that.
