Degrease both the screw and the hole very carefully.
    Use blue loctite after degreasing.

I'm considering staking the screw in with a spring-loaded center punch -- just to be sure. Has anyone done this? Anyone see a potential problem with staking?

    Undead thread

I did my safety the other night in about 23 seconds. Way easier that I would've imagined. I loosened the grip screw roughly half way to relieve spring tension without the possibility of the spring flying out. I then positioned the safety between fire and safe and it slid right out with a little push on the non-selector side. Positioned the new CMMG piece and it slid right in. The screw had a minimal amount of Loktite on it, so I installed it as-was. Checked for function and called it done.

Got my new one from CDNN for $19.99 plus shipping. So, about $30 total. Very easy and worthwhile mod, IMO.

I just looked at one of the first Stag Model 8L Lefty Gas Piston AR's the other day and it had a left-handed non-ambi safety. Not sure where to get one right now, but Stag should start selling them to their various distributors soon. You can get a Stag LPK with the lefty safety on the Stag website, but not individually.

I have two Stags with factory ambi's, but the lefty safety is much more comfortable because the lever on the other side doesn't sit under your trigger finger. Plus there's no allen screw needed to hold it together.

They do sell the left-only selector on their website.

Interesting, I didn't see that. I looked in the "Lower Receiver Parts" section and only saw the LPK's. I didn't look in the "accessories" section. Thanks.

    Not a problem.
I found it quite by accident, myself. Had considered it, but wanted the versatility (?) of the ambi.
