I have had ACOGS with the chevron and Accupoint 3-9s with the triangle
since my application is on a 6.8 for hunting, I just preferred the #4 with the dot over the triangle

at real close distances the triangle is probably a tad faster but my eye has a hard time shooting "the tip" at distances

and purchased from G and R tactical

bumping this, hoping for an update from mister Cold.

I am torn between these two optics to replace my eotech 517. I am thinking about trying some 3-gun competition in the next year, but mostly plinking and some basic drills...

My biggest concern is the illumination on the TR-24 - How is it shooting from under shaded cover into bright sunlit area? Most of the "complaints" seem to be at night or looking from inside a building to a sunlit outside... I figure it should be fine, as many ranges have covered shooting lanes, but exposed target areas, and I haven't heard any complaints - I just want to make sure before I invest such a chunk of cash, and from what I have heard the meopta is excellent with its illumination.

Thanks in advance, my apologies if I should have made a new thread.

Edit: I see OP has the German #4 ret - I am most interested in one of the triangle reticles

LOKNLOD posted some good pics through the TR24R illustrating this phenomenon here:

Check out the fourth pic up from the bottom. This is a pretty accurate representation of what the reticle looks like when viewing a brightly lit area from a shaded area. You can always see the red, but it's more of a dark maroon color.

    Bright into bright is great.
    Bright into dark is great.
    Dark into dark is good.
    Dark into bright is lacking.

Thanks for that, FullMetalRedhead. I thought I had found every thread here on the TR24, hadn't seen that one. Perfect for my question.

I have a TR-24 on the way - too good of a deal to pass up. If I find the faults unlivable, I'll flip it and won't lose anything.
