    THE MINI HAMMER

Well, here she is, finally all together and getting tuned in! I have been testing some loads, tried 69/77 SMK's with H4895 and Benchmark, LC cases. All were under one inch with various charge weights, it seems to like the 77 SMK and Benchmark. I hammered that last shot on the best group, still counted it though.
I was supposed to go tomorrow since I would have the KD range, but had to go today and had to settle for the 100 gravel one. Now I need to stretch it out and get my dope.

Lower- AERO, G&R LPK, MOE, EMOD, Geissele SSA.

Upper- Bravo Co M4 ramped, Standard CH, DD 12" LR, Compass Lake Douglas SS Match 1n7, 5.56 Chambered, M4 ramped, Full diameter under the HG, .750 from Mid length Gas(matched bolt and carrier from Compass Lake), Vortex, Vltor Block pinned and barrel/block Duracoat by ADCO.

OPtics, Night Force NXS 3.5-15 x 50 MLR reticle and Mil knobs, Larue 1.5. I have the KAC 600m rear--just need the front!

    Thanks to
    G&R
    Bravo Co
    Compass Lake Engineering
    Sport Optics (Night Force)
    Carolina Mountain Tactical (SSA)
    Larue Tactical
    Magpul/Vltor (Brownells)

    I like it.

Va Dinger was laughing as we drove to the Vickers Mod/staff class in March when I called Compass Lake and ordered the barrel.

They did an outstanding job on it. It was bead blasted, I almost left it alone but decided to have it Duracoated while ADCO was putting it together. I'm really amazed at how easy it cleans up. CLE didn't have the uppers at the time of order and my only "fear" was that the upper's ramps wouldn't match the extension. They match so well it almost looks like it's one piece!

It's a fatty-the barrel nut barely fit over it. I think I will order another just like it to have on hand.

Very nice! It's always great when a project comes together, and you track down all the requisite parts.

I'm putting together a similiar SPR build. I do have a question, if you would be so kind. Was the Nightforce scope selected for this specific rifle, or were you re-using it from another firearm? I'm developing a short list of optics for my build, and would appreciate any input you might provide.

Thanks for posting the pics - it's a very fine rifle!

I originally was going to use the 2.5-10 x 32. After talking it over with some other shooters, I decided on the 3.5-15 x 50. I'm only giving up 1x on the low end and gaining 5x on the top. I know the scope appears big for the rifle, the sun shade is on it and makes it appear more so. I'm actually going to run the same scope on the 700 PSS.
I have the NF 1-4 w/FC-2 on a build that other than a Bravo Co chromed lined middy, is the same as this.
Since I wanted more precision capabilities with this one, I went with the 3.5-15 on this one.

I had a Leupold 1.5-5 SPR in a Larue 1.5 in mind, but I will be selling it soon. I used it on the 6.5 Grendel I had built up last year.
