I like the mix of the old school upper and handguards with the new pistol grip, magazine and stock.

Hey guys, just thought this would be a good place to introduce myself.

1st post, but I've been lurking for some time now. I'm also a very active member in other firearms forums.

Here's my KISS Rifle build, sort of a KISS take on a RECCE rifle, unfortunately its not gonna be set up like this for much longer, got the bug to tacticool it a bit. Actually only reason I took the picture was because I put the complete lower up for sale over at calguns.net

Looking forward to being an active member in this very informative forum.

    Specs:
    -Bushmaster Dissy Upper
    -Stag Lower w/ DPMS LPK
    -Sully Stock
    -Ergo Grip
-MOE Trigger Guard & Ranger Plates
-NHMTG 10rd restricted mags (California required)
    -Radlock Bullet Button (California required)

In the process of re-building an M4 and was remembering how simple a KISS M4 can be. In searching I found this thread and figured I'd throw this pic in of mine that I sold:

From my point of view as a civilian I wouldn't put the same weight on a BUIS, however. I have an ACOG on my rifle and plan on getting a T1 for my 2nd. With the kind of shooting I'm doing (and will be doing), I have faith in my gear that it will not fail me.

Just different outlooks based on what you're doing. Like you and Lucky said, if I were LEO or mil, you're darned right I'd have a BUIS on my duty rifle
For point shooting or a center mass shot at close range it might work at the range.areas he real world, on patrol and in a shooting it would be grossly negligent to put an officer on patrol w/o a rear sight.

Sell one of the red dots and buy a bunch of BUIS for the PD. sell all the RD sights if necessary and buy BUIS.
