556-to-552 is finished and should be on its way back to me this next week. Then it goes to the refinisher for phosphating and SIG Gray coating.

The 556P SBR is still at my Smith's shop. Picatinney rail stock is backordered so there it waits until he gets some in stock to fab into a Swiss-pattern rail, then rosette weld in place. Then that upper goes to the refinisher.

Pics to follow of the 556-to-552 once I have it back next week.

Very nice. How and where did you have the receiver engraved?

Who's doing the work? And if you don't mind telling how much is it setting you back?

    Cheers,

The work is being done by Frank at Antique and Modern Arms. He did the engraving and his preference is to engrave the front right of the receiver.

    As for cost, around $4500.

Have those of you who are interested in a 556 SBR seen this? It's certainly not as cool as a 552 but it's a step in the right direction.

Just watched the Kingdom and Miami Vice. Michael Mann really likes those Sig 552s doesn't he?

    Any updates?
