I have one of their pump Home Defense/Tactical versions, they are well made. They have an excellent warranty as well. If you check out their website, the president of the company on down participate regulary in the discussion forums. They stand behind their products and engage the user community.

I wish there were more aftermarket options, but they come well equipped out of the box depending on the model.

I'll slide a photo or two in with my other builds while I'm home.

Do they function like an 870? By that, I am asking if the safety is located in the same spot and do you unload it the same as an 870?

If so, I may need to get one of those for that price.

    Thank you Ryan,

I was looking at getting an 870 Police to practice on my own with. But with kids and some other projects (patrol rifle build) I have going on I can't justify the expense.

That Charles Daly looks like the ticket. All I'll use it for is to practice our qualification rounds with. It won't be upgraded with extended magazines or anything like that.

I was just wondering if the safeties operated the same and if it loaded and unloaded in the same manner. I may need to look at buying one.

You get a lot of gun for the money, I think it will serve you well. I'd have to surf the daly forums and see what folks are doing.

I answered my own question on that, the 870 mods do not work and do not modify easily

Occasionally he posts here as well.

I have one of their semi-auto hunting shotguns. It has been nothing but reliable, I even ran it for a couple of hundred rounds without the o ring in the gas system and it even then it only choked three or four times on light target loads. I called them to order another and they wouldn't hear of it. A couple of days later two of them showed up in my mailbox.

Is it a Benelli? No, but it's pretty darned reliable for a semi-auto shotgun. It's at an incredible price point, it has a fantastic company behind it, and I don't cry when it gets banged around.

My only gripe is that the LOP is too long, perhaps I'll ask them how to cut it down, or petition someone to make something aftermarket. I'd be all over the pump if someone would make an extended tube for it...I may buy one anyway.

I went and bought the field tactical pump, $210 out the door.I will shoot it this week sometime, hopefully all will go well.I noticed this shotgun is light i think it is 5.5 pounds or something like that, i will see what recoil is like with heavy loads.
