I like the focus on lower weight solutions. I have a LaRue mount for my T-1, but this is a good option. I'm happy with the LaRue, but as gotm4 pointed out, it doesn't come off that often. I mainly like the QD because it doesn't loosen over time like threaded mounts tend to.
I originally was going to toss the DD BUIS that came on my DD M4 into the parts box and mount up my LaRue BUIS, but after seeing the DD version, I really like it. I'm going to use it for a while and see if it stays tight. If so, I may switch out the LaRue mount. Every ounce counts.
+1 I prefer absolute over lower 1/3 co-witness.
I have the rear sight on a 9mm carbine. It is solid and I like the lack of QD. The A1 adjustment makes it pretty much bomb proof. I like the concept of the micro mount very K.I.S.S....
Well I seem to have found my sight set and mount for my custom build.
... the templar doth tempt.

While I do hate slotted button head screws, at least I have a chance of easily finding a screwdriver in my garage that will fit these screws, the ones for the Omega took a trip to our machine shop. This is one instance where I won't be changing them out for socket heads. Button head socket cap screws= my kryptonite.
Can't wait to try these new goodies.
hmm
how would this work if you were to have a rail at the 1 o'clock position on your forend? say a standard free float tube...
would it put the micro in the same spot as the 1 o'clock offset mount?
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE ABSOLUTE CO-WITNESS IDEA!!!
