    The cast version has a hollowed out (for lack of a better term) body. You can see it from the bottom of the BUIS body.

    I thought they were Chinese knock offs when the pics were first posted here, but LMT vouched for them.

    darn... I got the cast ones. (hollowed out bottom) got it last year October. When in fact I was buying it coz I wanted forge.

    does this mean I shoudn't knock it around?

    It's probably fine. If you have the LMT on the back of the upper, you probably have some Eopoint Aimcog in front of it that'll end up taking all the whacks.

    Big fan of the chopped carry handle:



    One question though...I have seen some replace the big thumb screw with a smaller hex screw. Anyone got any info on that?

    it's actually a thumb-nut... the distinction is important because a nut can just be unscrewed and replaced. if you're using a regular chopped colt carry handle, the nut should just thumb right on off the screw- take it to your local hardware store and replace it with a hex/torx/flat/phillips/etc of your choosing. the LMTs, on the other hand, are staked on. you might be able to beat them off, but i'd probably just cut it off.

    It's an LMT carrying handle. I was asking because I had seen someone ( I think gotm4) had replaced it with a smaller hex nut.

    here's one i did




    10/32 3/8th" nuts and mylar sooper thin washers.
