LCP and no +P

Got a LCP this weekend and find I now can make sure I always follow the 1st rule of a gun fight, now I am having A LOT of trouble with rule 2. Where the heck is all the .380 ammo going???? I guess I might have to just throw the gun at the bad guy. Now the Kel-Tec says it can have +P just not continously. The LCP manual states DO NOT USE +P. Are most hollow point self defense ammo +P or is the +P stuff just really hot hollow point ammo? I have only seen +P in 38spl.

Anybody have any ammo they recommend for .380? (when I can find it)

I am carrying Silvertips in mine, but they are old stock that I have had. I think most of my .380 ammo is old stock that I have had. I have not seen much .380 on gun store shelves lately.

There is no spec for +P in the .380, IIRC it only exists in the .38 Special, 9mm, and .45acp

Good luck, 380 is impossible to find in my area. Fortunately I have several hundred rounds squirreled away.

The only 380 I've found has been in 50 rd boxes for > $60.00 ... and even then it doesn't last long. No thanks, I'll carry my big calibers until that price works itself back down.

Good luck finding some .380. I talked to someone the other day who had to buy a $63 box of 50 just to take their conceal class. Not sure what type of ammo you're looking for but here may be a start

I've had 380 on backorder from Cabela's since early May. They've already emailed once to revise the backorder date, which is now expected to be July 18th.
