from what I have read on the subject those distances are going to require Gen3 and an IR illuminator
read the post I sent, HTR does a TON of NV hunting and several other people have commented on how accurate his info is
along the same lines
I have a hog hunt coming up and the guy uses ITT Gen 3 goggles
they stalk and get close and use a Gen3 scope on a supressed 44 mag rifle
I have a T1 on my 44 mag revolver and want to use the goggles and then my pistol for the shot... they get close, 15-30 yards....
I have shot pigs on the run at 60 yards with it.. so, I am not concerned about the shooting part, just how well it will work with the T1 and the NV goggles
For those distances to shoot seriously at, you would need a good qaulity Gen 2 device. Another choice is the Gen 2 SHP, the closest thing to a Gen 3 in terms of resolution. They do lack the overall brightness of a Gen 3, but you can get our high power IR Torch variable beam illuminator (good out to 500m). In a monocular the GT-14's with a Gen 2 SHP Grade B are in the $1700 range. With full head gear and weapon mount (kit) at $1890.00. The tubes have a blem or two is why they are Grade B's, but blemishes do NOTHING against performance. You can put this unit behind your AP or EO with good results out to 100 yards. You can also get a 3x magnifier for the unit out to 200. This is probably the best way to go without a dedicated rifle scope. We sell MANY of these systems to LE folk and the resolution and price is unbeatable for this performance. Hope this helps.

Vic thanks for all the info. This was exactly what I needed to know. Had planed on getting it this month but having to dump some money to get my boat back up and running first. You know how it is 2 best days of a boat owners life the day you buy it and the day you sell it! Probally be a month or two and I will definatly get in touch with you about getting this setup. Everyone else thanks for all the info and suggestions.
