    TDI Bayonet Light Mount

    http://www.tdi-arms.com/store.php?region=usa&pid=229

Has anyone mounted a light on their AR using a bayonet lug mount (see link / attachment)? I'm thinking about a G2/6P-type light with a tape switch (no rails on my gun), but haven't seen it done yet. There must be a reason it isn't a popular idea. Any comments? Thanks.

Wow - not a single reply. I really didn't want to ask this on "the other site..." Aww, what the heck. I'll just spend the $40 to get one and give it a try.

    Aluminum?

I can't imagine it fitting too tight, probably wobbles, probably not a big deal though.

I think TDI makes a lot of that out of Al now...

You'd be better off getting a small rail piece for the handguards and mounting it to the bottom holes or drilling a new hole in the side at 1 o'clock or such.
