Best prices on Remington 700 LTR (.308)

    Gents,

I'm in the market for a Remington 700 LTR (.308). Don't want the model with the detachable box mag, looking for the standard hinged floor plate.

Anyone know of a place that has better than average prices on the LTR's in .308? (LEO pricing (individual officer), etc)

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Try M.L. Security Products. They have a package deal for them but I'm not sure if they would break it up. Looked to be a pretty high price for what you get - $2395 for: The Model 700P Light Tactical Rifle (LTR) Tactical Weapon System (TWS) package includes a Mark IV 3.5-10x40mm scope with Duplex™ reticle and mounts installed. A Harris 1A2 bipod, Butler Creek lens caps; a Michaels 1" Quick Adjust™ sling with QD swivels, a rugged Pelican® hard case, and sample of Remington gun care products to round out the system.

I saw Bigbore on AR15.com had one with a threaded barrel for sale - $975 I believe.

I also found a few on Gunbroker for $820 to $850.

    Hope this helps you out!

I think Bachman Pawn & Gun had these awhile back for $699. It appears they don't have a website, but some of their info can be found here. http://www.dallasguns.com/links.asp

They usually have a large ad in Shotgun News, but I couldn't find it in the issue on my desk.

I got mine at the PX for $900, but I got ripped off, evidently. See if you can get one w/ scope mount holes that are centered .

I'm getting a 700P in near future, I think its better to pay a little more and get one through a gunsmith who specialises with precision rifles.

    My $0.02

Bachman will have them in stock and they are usually one of the better prices in the DFW are. The old man is grumpy and eccentric to say the least but he knows guns, has good prices and he has a HUGE inventory.

    Good Luck

What difference would it make if you got it through a gunsmith or a regular gun store as long as it was new?

I'm not trying to be difficult but, I'm thinking about getting one and am exploring my options.
