Anyone had a chance to play with one of these?

Seems like a cool little light. I believe it has the same diameter as the E2D, if I'm not mistaken, which opens it up to the possibility of easy weapon-mounting.

If it is functional on a blaster, it might be the AP Micro of weaponlights.

I have been carring one for a while now, fits nicely into a side pants pocket. The high output setting throws out a lot of light. On this setting you can really blind a person with night adapted vision. The low output is great for your every day tasks of lighting the walkway to lighting the door handle of your car. Have not tried it as a weapon light, got it as my e.d.c. light. Overall typical surefire quality.

I think a Novatac would be a better weaponlight, simply because of the removable pocket clip and with a 1" body, it'll fit in anything that will hold a 6P or G2. No hunting for a special E sized light mount.

Available in gray now, and I've heard that special runs of other colors had or will occur. Good stuff. Recommended.

My ONLY complaint about the E1B is that I wish it was a pressure-sensitive switch that went low-then-high instead of the double-click switch that's on it. Or I wish they'd sell a tailcap that did low-then-high that I could swap for. I don't like the high setting coming on first.

For those that don't know, in order to get to the low setting you first have to "flash" the high beam by pushing the tailcap once and then hitting it again quickly to get to low.

I'm shocked at the light output on high, especially for such a small unit. I'm even more shocked that the low-output is pumping enough juice to navigate...easily.

A buddy gave me one yesterday, and I was unaware that this little monster even existed.

Rob, I definitely agree that the two-stage is reversed, for my particular needs/wants/desires. After seeing how much throw the low setting pushes, I'd prefer to have that as a primary, and the high as a secondary.

Nonetheless a cool little light. I'm aware that two-stage lights aren't ideal for weaponlights, but it would be, no pun intended, used in conjunction with another primary light, as a backup. As such, the minimal size/weight is up my alley.

My main mammy blaster's got a lot of weight at the front, so I'm setting up the 2nd one for a lighter weigh-in.

When my buddy showed it to me, I immediately thought "world's lightest weaponlight".

Thanks for the replies. Since this thing came out of left field to me, I was looking for where she stood, and how others have been deploying her.

The pocket clip can be removed pretty easily, simply by removing the bezel and sliding it off.

The only downside I'd see to its size is that it could be easily misplaced. Overall, I'm diggin' it.

I believe the E1L has a primary low, secondary high setup but the lumen output is significantly lower. It also has a lousy pocket clip that puts the heaviest part of the light outside of your pocket so it's more likely to flip out of the pocket and get lost.

The E1B has the higher setting first as it's supposed to be used as a tac light first. That is, high output on demand from the first press to shine in a bad guy's face.

RobS, you might look instead at the L1 Lumamax, or the eventually-to-be-released LX1. Either of these will have the switch you prefer, and the LX1 should be a whopping increase in lumen output, assuming the LX2 increases are similar in the LX1 when it hits the streets.

I thought I was going to get an E1B, if I decide to sell my old L2, but am now leaning toward converting an old 6P incan to Malkoff, and a Z59 or Z48 tailcap, since I prefer clickies.

Nature of the beast, Rob. It's a tactical light first, so the high beam on initial makes the most sense. Although I do share your sentiment at times!
