Grant you should try it with a VLTOR A5 or RE10 receiver extension and a VLTOR A5, A5H3 and A5H4 buffer.
1/2 my ARs now have these extensions and every one of them shoots softer and much smoother.
I would imagine that the A5H4 would feel great. I will try one on my 10.5" (the one from the cutdown Colt SOCOM 14.5" barrel) next week since I have on another SBR lower of mine. My 10.5" has a Magpul UBR on it with an H3 buffer. My 12.5" SBR has the A5 extension and the 6oz A5H3 buffer.

    No mention of GP sizes?

Will .060 work on an 11.5''?

There are several variables that effect how the gun works. So I am hesitant to give anyone GP sizes (as it might not work and I would be on the hook).

I have heard good things about them, but have not tried any of them.

Recoil management is one of the top problems I wanted to fix, but honestly the fact that the gun runs cleaner suppressed than a gun without a can was the most important aspect I looked at.

Yes and no. It is a controlled short stroke (meaning I designed it to do it). The gun runs 100% without the can on it.

IMHO, if your bolt locks back (without the can on), your gun is over gassed.

    Okay. I understand.

Running an 11.5'' + KAC NT4, Colt H3 (5.6 oz.), and Colt USGI SS Spring.

Do you think an .060'' gas port would function properly?

You've done this a lot more than me. I've always used a switchblock as a crutch.

I'm getting rid of them, and I'm going to start selling barrels, and changing out barrel extensions. (So I can use the E3 bolt.)

.063'' is pretty much the largest I'm willing to go, because that's the size I absolutely KNOW it'll work on, I'm trying to get the gas blowback, and recoil characteristic pretty much the same as your 10.5''. (Which I assume to be smoother than your 11.5'', as you use it a lot more from what I see.)

You won't give us the GP sizes that you used?

I might try this with a 14.5'', but I think I'm going to start relegating to 11.5''s, I already know somebody at my work who wants to buy my lightly used 16.1'' E3 that hasn't been cut yet. I might sell it to fund an 11.5'' KAC gun when they come out. :|

    Predicament.

I would say that with an 11.5" barrel would want to us a smaller GP than .060.

One of the variables is that I do not know how much more or less gas pressure the NT4 generates than the SF K can.

Now to me, this is no big deal (as my AK doesn't do it either). To some though, the fact that the bolt doesn't lock back without the can means the end of the world.

Sorry, you were talking about the pros of a switchblock and said, "there was also a downside" to them??

Is the gas port on a 6920 barrel small enough to use for this? I have one that's begging to be hacked.

I'm not sure you're the uber expert on suppressor construction (no offence) but is it size, or baffle stack configuration that is the deciding factor (main variable, besides ammunition, and barrel length) in gas pressure?

How do you think .050'' would work? Judging by the results with the surefire?

I might have to have a talk with Kevin, assuming he knows.
