You have a gen1 or gen 2. I have one that looks identical to that in my wife's AR, but her gas key wasn't staked.
I actually enlarged the gas port holes by one drill bit size to compensate for the fact that it lacks the extra 4th vent-hole that my gen4 has. Runs the same (i.e. 100%). Just run it like you have it, is my rec. You're good to go.

Ditto - looks like a Gen 2. The bolt I would send in to LMT after discussing the FTE issues with them.
If you have time please post a pic of the bottom of the carrier, and the mouth of the carrier in this thread ==> https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...cal-Comparison
Would it be reasonable to say that the E carrier is theoretically easier on the bolt due to the de-pressurizing that occurs prior to extraction/ejection? And therefore should in theory contribute to a longer service life for the bolt?
I literally just got off the phone with LMT about an hour before reading this. According to them, the enhanced carrier is suitable for all AR platforms irregardless of barrel length or gas system.
By design, as you mentioned, there should be no draw back besides:
Cost
Part interchangeability with standard BCG parts
Awesome read & thanks a mil! Now, who's up for a "Best 300BLK SBR Ever" thread?
We ran AAC cans on 416 10.3" uppers on lowers running A5RE w/ A5H3 buffers and green Sprinco rifle springs.
They felt like laser tag guns the recoil impulse was so brisk and subdued.
“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles." - John Dean "Jeff" Cooper, The Art of the Rifle
Two things I'm unclear about for my next project.
1) with the vltor buffer and ecarrier, how is that going to affect the switch block benefit on a suppressed 10 or 12 inch Noveske?
2) are people still using the carrier only, and shouldn't all bolts work (a prior comment said a BCM bolt wouldn't fit)
BCM fits
