The magnification is hardly noticeable unless you concentrate with one eye on whatever the red dot is on in the same way you look thru a regular magnified scope. Otherwise looking thru it with both eyes open looks pretty much the same as any other Aimpoint.

Even though its a 2x it still has the unlimited eye relief like the nonmagnified Aimpoints.

There were no eye relief issues and it was just as quick and has the same FOV as the T1 I have.
Thanks for the feedback, Im getting a GOOD deal on the ML2 2x so Im hoping that it will do the trick for now. Ive abandoned the idea of using a 3x magnifier and it seems that the x2 should be fine for the next phase of my RECCE midlength project.

uspc9mm: Did you have a chance to co-witness the sight with iron sights?

Normally you would not cowitness irons through a magnified optic. The front sight would be magnified and the rear sight would not. I would reccommend running a foldable BUIS at the rear and deploying it should the need arise, after removing the 2x Optic.

Thanks Big Red. This is what Ive discovered as well, The 2x will be my primary for now (might be a little weak compared the 4x ACOG) but should be OK without a front sight.

Do you recommend having a front sight with the Aimpoint 2x?

Thanks for all the useful help & Info guys!!!

The Aimpoint ML2-2x is a little bigger than I initially expected. I opted for the Aimpoint QRP mount with riser (instead of the ARMS M68) and its rock solid. the front post is magnified and its a suitable stand alone optic for my purposes. Although I will still seek out a few alternate options on the BUIS (Troy are nice) but I think that I may try the Magpul MBUS.

Overall a nice optic. I think that a ARD killflash is in order (its a big piece of glass) and its larger than the standard Aimpoint.

Thumbs up Aimpoint Comp ML2-2X (2MOA)

I just got one from Midway for about $389.99 and went with the ARMS M68 and
1" Riser, cause it was available cheap and 1 day UPS away from my house.

My first time with an Aimpoint and I was a bit disappointed with the sight picture as compared to the ACOG's on my other weapons, but then I don't think too many can compare with ACOG's.

I got the unit for my AR 9mm which is very accurate with iron sights already, and I figured with the 2x mag it would take it to the limit of it's 100 yard effective range, although I have easily dinged steel targets at 200 with NATO spec 9mm.

As I got to dialing in the ML2-2X it kind of grew on me.
It only took about 25 rounds to get zeroed at 50 yards and it was quite easy to put good groups together at 100 yards with crappy 9mm ammo.

The sight picture is kind of tubular, you see the internals of the optic on this unit, I am not sure how a 1x Aimpoint looks, but you sort of learn to filter it out and see the dot on the target alone.
The field of view is not all that bad considering the magnification.

The cost turns out to be a tad over $500 when you consider the mounting hardware, but for the money it really works well, at least on my AR 9mm.

For anyone else that might be interested, I found a nv picture I took of the FOV of the 2x aimpoint I had. Its a shitty pic as I was attempting to capture the nv capabilities of the nvd more than the fov of the red dot but you get the idea........

And for comparison I took a few pics of the T1........

I'm unclear if the magnified optic will work with the 3x optical magnification device?
    Anyone try this set up?
    @Shazam
    yes sure!
It looks not only pretty cool but it works superb

I'm still using this constellation with my HK MSG90 clone - see picture below!
The Aimpoint CompML2 2x comes with an A.R.M.S. #22M68 EX Cantilever Spacer and
the Aimpoint 3x Magnifier comes with a Samson Quick Flip Modular Mount & A.R.M.S. Base.
