That's cool that S&W went over your gun with a fine-tooth comb.

I don't think there is any magic wand that is going to make Wolf ammo not be questionable.

I'm not familiar with this upgrade... I had 2 failures to eject with Wolf when My Bushy was brand new, and I was told to try the D-Fender, I've been running it ever since with no problems and mostly Wolf ammo.

I have a M&P15x (born on date of Feb 09) and I was told to break it in with good brass (200-500) rounds before ever using Wolf ammo. I did and my rifle eats Wolf like there is no tomorrow. I even installed an "H", then "H2" buffer per Grant's recommendation since my Smith appeared to be "over-gassed". It spits the Wolf at 3-4 o'clock and never misses a beat.

I do run it well lubed using Slip 2000 EWL and it stays on the BCG longer than anything else that I have tried. If it is good enough for Pat Rogers and the torture he puts weapons through than it is definitely good enough for me.

I am glad that you got your issues fixed so now you can enjoy your rifle.

Well I never stopped enjoying the rifle. The major failures all happened on the same day, so minus the 1 photo of me that has me with a pissed off look on my face (that day), there have been plenty of good times with the gun prior to the fix.

I do have to say that I understand everyone when they talk about Wolf, but some of the most experienced people on this page have said that even though it is a "factor" it shouldn't be the only "cause" (if I can sum it all up). I heard enough good things about Wolf on this site, and money was tight that weekend, I thought I would push the rifle for the first time heavily with steel casings and see what happened. It is my thought, and others, and obviously SW saw that it was true, that the chamber was tight. The thing is that it should be able to take Wolf, but Wolf is not ideal. I'm glad it's fixed.

The last thing I want in a SHTF is to have a highly capable weapon, then run across ammo, or have someone offer me ammo, and have to say "Oh bummer, it's Wolf..." Especially since I live in a state that still has a ban on the bayonet lug. I wont even be able to attach a knife to the barrel and do a good hollywood style charge into the zombies in that circumstance!

All and all I am happy with what they did, and happy with how well this forum treated me in helping me through the steps needed to determine the malfunction, and how to deal with. I know who I'm buying my Aimpoint from when I get the money, and where I'm going if I have other questions!

Sounds like you got it figured out and are on your way to becoming a good shooter.
