Aimpoint ocular lens threads

I was wondering what the threads in the body on the ocular lens side are for on my ML3? Not the objective side. I have a comp ML XD and it doesn't have the threads and I was curious what they would be used for.

They are to confuse the crowd that buys the fake Aimpoints from 1337tactical and give them something else to compare to the "real thing."



plastic/rubber eyepiece I think.
