Got a SCAR here locally for $3k, havent seen much better on gunbroker lately either. If I can find one for around $2500 Ill jump on it right away, but those deals are pretty hard to come by. From what the dealer told me, the SCAR 17 is getting postponed or nixed; not gonna hold my breath for that one.

Let me second Cameron's . The .308 is the only version of the SCAR that actually made sense for them to build in the first place(at least for me and I assume 99% of the users.) I've put off several good deals on DSA FAL's in order to save up for one. From what second hand info I've gathered it's the version the real gunfighters want as well, as their M16 pattern guns handle 5.56 reliably and with fewer drawbacks(like sight offset) despite what G&A says.

Then again, I'm not one to place any stock at all in the words that come out of gun dealer's mouth's with the exception of a notable few.

That is the one that most interested me. Hopefully HK gets their 7.62 rifle to market before the end of the year.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

    $2500 is a standard 10% markup.

It's nice to see SCAR prices coming down from insane to merely high.

FN would be nuts to not come out with a semi-auto SCAR H as soon as possible in the U.S. Those things would sell fast, not as lightning fast as the H&K 417's are going to (nothing else will), but still very fast.

I transferred one out to California this winter when it first came out. I've never seen an uglier stock before. It looks like a storm trooper's boot. I shouldered the gun and it was like hugging a fat chick. Just didn't feel right.

This is not my experience. The rifle definitely looks like it would feel as though you are hugging a fat chick. But shouldering and firing my SCAR, it really feels very good.....not blocky, not ungainly large.
