You were turning the elevation knob instead?
No, I was turning the correct knob.

Ok, time to reveal the issue that had me stumped and I am still not sure how EOTech pulled this one off.
When I got to the range today this guy came over to compliment my setup. I told him it would be a lot nicer if the optic worked. Seeing as he aparently has an EOTech himself he offered to help out. After adjusting the elevation to match the irons he started on the windage. He bottomed out the left adjustment and was still WAY right. He then tried one last attempt to make it work by turning it all the way right; the sight moved all the way left. From then on it was easy to get it on since we now realized that the adjustment were the opposite of what was marked on the sight (only on windage). It says to turn clockwise for right but that actually moves it left. I have no idea how they pulled that one off.
It was a pretty fun range trip after that. Another guy told his friend that i was shooting a DPMS (BCM) and after closer inspection he determined that it was a BCM lower with a custom upper and told me that it was useless past 100yds. I didn't feel like setting up a target and really dialing in the sights so I set up some one gallon paint cans at 50 and 100 yards and busted them up with both the irons and the RDS. I also had quite a bit of luck hitting the 300 and 700 yard steal targets with the EOTech.
It looks like it all worked out but if I find a good deal on a H1 or a T1 I will probably snatch that up.

Rancid-
Glad to see you're enjoying your new setup! Weird about the EOTech though....

Hey! that's how it was with my Aimpoint!haha
make sure you mark which direction you need to turn it to get the correct direction. it helps alot.

Could it be the direction arrow in the Eotech is for moving the strike of the bullet and not the direction of the Red dot. just a thought.
The arrow/directions on the adjustment screws on the Eotech is for "Point of Bullet Impact" NOT which way the dot moves when looking thru the Eotech to line the reticule up with your iron sights. Your iron sights and your RDS are two seperate sighting devices. This is why it is advised to zero them completely seperate from one-another.
These should also help in the future: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=2...USTMENT_DECALS
Reading pg.5 of your owners manual should also help. RTFM!!!

If you must use an Eotech, get yourself some EoStickers from Ned:
