Yes. Because it was large to begin with (Bushamster) and it enlarges over time it overgassed the weapon even more.

Do you know what the exact gas port size on a BM gun is?

Thanks for the info. Interesting problem. And a lot of help on this forum, for sure.

    Thanks, I appreciate that.

My boss has a BM 14.5'' barrel that he's going to run as a plinker.

Trying to play with buffers the other day was a pain in the ass.

Just as a follow up: I contacted Daniel Defense and they wanted me to send the whole lower in to them free of charge. They found and corrected the problem and sent it back. They even reimbursed me for the shipping costs! Talk about great customer service and they just earned a life long customer!

We have actually seen 9mm buffers cause short stroking where as the H3 did not.

What about a Spike's Tactical T2 buffer? In it, there are no Tungsten weights, but rather Tungsten powder. Would this cause a problem regarding inertia, function, etc.?

My personal opinion is that the weight is not used in the most efficient manner. The idea of using a powder is good, but it doesn't seem to have much of a benefit in practice. I did have limited experience with it, so I could just be very wrong.

ETA: I dont think you will get consistent "use" of all the powder all the time. I think you can hit a cyclic rate where some powder would be "floating" around and not acting as it should. The normal weights are forced to work the way they should and are going to be more consistent.
