Thanks in advance.

1) You'll probably get more exposure and responses posting in the general forum - this is the NFA forum.
2) Hard to say from a pic. Does it scratch off with a fingernail or rub of with gun oil or a solvent?
Could be anything from extra anti-seize lube used on the barrel nut to mayo from the assemblers BLT. Rub/scrape/blow-torch it off. It's a steel barrel designed to contain an explosion and rocket a copper coated projectile at almost 3000fps. It'll stand up to it.
It does not scratch off and none of my oils or solvents have any effect.
And I just posted it here because it seems the NFA peps are a bit more knowledgeable with the Colts.... Just my opinion.
Thanks
Did you try non-fluorinated brake cleaner?
Go heat up the barrel with a couple mags, it should burn off from the heat.. Since it does look like paint from the pic.

Shooting it will probably annihilate the offending mark.
Good idea. Will give it a try.
Thanks everyone.
I have a similar thing on my bolt, see picture. This is on my mt6400c that I just got. Looks a bit shinny and feels smooth. Anybody know what it is? I just scraped a little bit off. So it will come off but not easily.
