    Aimpoint Kill-Flash

I recently aquired an Aimpoint M4s, it came with a Kill-flash installed: I mounted it on an ADM SOCOM height mount (This part has nothing to do with my question, I added the part about the mount because I really like it)

How many of you with Aimpoint sights use a Kill-flash? If not Why?

I use the one that can flip up when I don't want it.

That is way to cool, if I may ask, where did you get the flip up Kill-flash cover?

Did you paint your M4s, if yes, what brand of paint?

I've used a killflash for years...I find them to be nice cheap disposable protection for the obj lens (I don't use covers) and the slightly darker contrast you get when using one works well in a very bright sunny or snowy outdoor environment and makes the dot quicker to see.

    That's my experience with them.

I bought it at work, I'll see if I can find the Aimpoint part number. I coated the M4S in Duracoat tactical dark earth brown.

I used a kill flash on my M68 when I was in the Army. I didn't use a flip-up caps so it mainly was protection of the lens on the Aimpoint. As was mentioned it also provided nice additional contrast to the sight which made the dot "pop" a little more in bright sunlight.

Some people didn't like them when entering a building, but I found if you're shooting with both eyes open like you should it's a non-issue.

I just wish I could add one to my T1.

I've wanted one for a while. We had a thread sometime ago with part number. I even sent an email to Grant asking him to get some of those, but I've not seen them on his website.
