Colt rifle length receiver extensions are 7075-T6 and also available from SAW. I haven't found a source for 7075-T6 CAR extensions.

Just bought one from Midwest Industries. Came in a plain looking Zip-Loc bag. It's installed and actually feels pretty good. It was like 70 bucks including shipping. If it breaks I'll just lean to my right and grab the next functioning weapon.![]()
I think that's the buffer only (though you were looking for extension tube). See schematic and links here.
Damn. Well, anyone know where I can get a 7075-T6 Receiver Extension?
I'll post what SAW writes back with on the stock status of the LPKs.
Not to jerk anyone's chain, but the only LPKs I've used have been DPMS with no problems. However I throw out the hammer and trigger and install match triggers. I also usually replace the hammer and trigger pins with KNS non rotating pins, so there aren't a lot of parts from the kits left that I actually use. But what is left has been working fine.
One option as Grant's LPK is not currently available, is to assemble the needed parts from Brownell's, using Colt parts. Grant says they are GTG.
Admittedly my sample size is small (1), but had good luck with J&T/Double Star LPK. All parts were well finished, and fit correctly. Cannot comment on durability, as I went with a JP fire control set and KNS pins.
I decided to stay away from DPMS, etc based on info gleaned from M4C.

If you are in a hurry, buy a Stag LPK or even a Fulton LPK. If you have a fit or durability problem you could always buy individual Colt parts through Brownells to replace any broken parts.
