I can't speak for both, since I have not used both, but most people seem to be going with a T-1 anymore.

Dont have any experinece with the M4, but I own a ML2 and have owned an Eotech. Currently using a T1, and its my favorite of the bunch. Small, light, and on a Larue mount its hard to beat.
It will be on a stag m4
Never had an M4. I have a few M3s and the H-1.
The good news is you can't go wrong. Try to get hands on with both. For me the M4 doesn't offer enough of an advantage over the M3, mostly because I already have the M3s. Battery life is better, but I change out battiers yearly and haven't had a dead battery. Eight years with the M4. Five years with the M3. Basicly a moot point when you change the batteries out at interval.
My H-1 rides in a Larue mount. I like it. If it were one of our approved optics I would use it on my issue rifle. Small, light and no "clutter".
YMMV.
But like I said. You can't really go wrong. Good luck!
Check out this tacked thread on optics. It's pretty in depth and believe will answer your questions. https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=4209
Personally, I like the EOTech 553 and the Aimpoint M4S, but they're pretty pricey. There is also a comparison chart in there some where in that thread. Good luck.

I went with the M4s, because the T1's smaller 20mm lens proved to be a hassle (to me at least) when shooting from positions with less than stellar cheekweld. I found the M4s was much more forgiving (and faster) in awkward positions. Of course, many will disagree, and most can use a T1 just fine, but the extra durability, and the added battery life (over 10 years with a lithium AA battery) of the M4s sealed the deal for me.![]()
Aimpoint M4S- Because your next Aimpoint battery hasn't been made yet.
This is some really great info.
