Well I was finally able to pull the trigger on mine today however, I do not know how long it will take to get here.

Does anyone else that has hands on it have any first hand information they would like to share?

I received my XPS2-0 from Botach last week, mounted it up and co-witnessed it with my zeroed BUIS. I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet. This is my first Eotech, and as a longtime Aimpoint user (current Comp C3 2MOA) the reticle takes a little getting used to.

The battery contacts are perpendicular to the bore and recoil, so that should help reduce any recoil related battery contact issues. The battery compartment feels very secure and tight. I guess time will tell.

I am waiting for more range reports with specifics before deciding if I want an XPS or T1 on my XCR PDW upper.

I am partial to the Eotech reticule though

Battery life has been a point of some relative criticism for Eotechs. The XPS' battery life is half of such for full-sized Eo units. Is it considered an acceptable compromise for presumed better reliability and smaller footprint?

I saw one at the ATS store in Oak Grove the other day, but got talking and buying other stuff and walked out without picking it up and checking it out. Does have an interesting look though.

Man I wish I had the cash for a XPS. When I sell my motorcycle I will be getting one.

XPS has a revised mount screw which has a recoil lug build within it. the new thumb screw are better at securing the optic on the reciever than the previous thumb screw.

the batteyr life is maybe a concern, but i would not let a battery run inside my primary optic without changing the battery everyyear anyways. like your fire alarm, you want to rely your optic's reliability on a battery failure? sometimes the battery life is over played since that is one of the only things Aimpoint fans can complain about.

The reliability has been improving steadily ever since. if you match the EOTech company history and Aimpoint, at this time of EOTech company time line pretty much match up to the Aimpoint line when they pushed out the original M series as the M-XD, and you remember how unreliable the M-XD was.

Seems like a battle of bad analogies.

If I ever go RDS it'll most likely be a T1 but the two SF NCOs I know (multiple tours of both theaters of current conflict) are both addicted to their EOTechs. Seems like BTDT folks can disagree.

Hey, can I throw in another bad analogy into the mix???

I would compare the Aimpoint to a Glock 17. It works. And it works damn well. Ergonomically it doesnt work for everyone, and it is rather aesthetically un-appealing to many folks.

I would then compare the Eotech to the current batch of high speed 1911's. Requires more maintenance to function reliably, but when it is properly maintained it runs like a raped ape, and nothing is faster.

I like your analogy better than my ice-cream.

Eotech will be here Thursday. Just need to figure out Co-witness or absolute Co-witness, fixed or folding rear sight. Larue riser or not.

Looking forward to running like a "RAPED APE"
