Questions to Rob S and SMGLEE or anywho.....

If you were in a law enforcement position, would you run one of the XPS models? Also, which reticle would you prefer (65moa with one dot, two dots, or the single dot)? I have been keeping up with this thread and still cant justify the money on a Aimpoint M4 for $759 dollars. For half that, this cop could have the XPS mounted and just change the battery every six months or so.

As always, I value everyone's opinion on here and due to this damn thread I have started, I still have money burning a hole in my pocket for a RDS. Just waiting to hear everyone's feelings after "actually" running one for a few weeks. I was also holding out on the my dept's range master to make a call on approving the T1 for duty. Said he loves it, BUT, the smaller tube would be harder to "pick up" quickly by "some" of our officers.

There are guns out there shot full auto by guys wearing life jackets from the hip killing people as well, but that's not how I want to roll...

F2F, I'm getting ready to go on my 3rd. If you're in the AO, let me know, I'll buy you a delicious KBR meal.

Eotech will be here Thursday. Just need to figure out Co-witness or absolute Co-witness, fixed or folding rear sight. Larue riser or not.

Looking forward to running like a "RAPED APE"
I personally see no benefit in running an "Absolute" co-witness over a "Lower 1/3" co-witness for RDS's. The lower 1/3 affords you a more "Heads-up" view of the battle field which translates into a clearer/less cluttered sight picture and quicker target aquisition. The Eotech mounted on a LaRue LT-110 is the optimal set-up for the Eotech.

*I am, and *I do. For police work, I prefer the standard 65moa ring/1moa dot. For me the 65moa ring adds to the Eotech's quick target aquisition.

I really dont see the need for the additional ranging dot for the distances that 99.9% of police work is done at. As long as you have a good BZO (100yds or 50yds), the hold-overs are simple enough with the single 1moa dot.

As far as the battery life on the XPS goes.... I am going to switch it out once a month for piece of mind.

Damn, I really want to try out a holographic sight (I'm still using an old COMP M!), but I still don't have the warm and fuzzies with this sight. You guys need to be running them hard and posting feedback.

Do you recommend the LT-110 or can I get away without it. I hopefully will be running one on a 6940.

If you dont use the 110; the sight will be sitting directly on the reciever and you'll be using what is called an absolute cowitness (dot sits on top of the front sight). I ran an absolute cowitness for a number of years and didnt have an issue with it.

I would recommend the standard reticle with the 65MOA circle and 1MOA dot inside. it is fast for my old eyes...

You can use the 65MOA almost like a large dot and engage target out to 15 yrds, lightning quick, but of course you will need to practice it and get used to using the reticle like that. also the 65MOA circle is great for hold over shots. especailly when in a class, the instructor ask for a head shot from 10yrds, you kist print the lower hash mark right below the brain and hammer away.. you don't have to hold a single dot over the top of the head and guess.

T1 is great, but it took some practice for me. sinc ei am so used to the large window on the EOTech, with the T1, I can not snap shoot as fast as the EOTech, the tube is smaller so it is not even as fast as my M3(not a big fan of M4). I have to almost mouont my rifle in order to find the reticle in the smaller tube. the EOtech allow for some more flexibility in heads up shooting. at least for me this applies.

and I do run like a raped ape with my EOTech!!!....LOL

You can get by without the riser mount, but I do highly recommend it. As was previously stated, running the Eotech in-conjunction with the LaRue LT-110 gives you the "Lower 1/3 co-witness" which is quicker to pick up, which translates into quicker shots on-target.
