    son's first painting

Well after having this for a bit, my son decided he wanted to paint it. I helped him by showing him on some cardboard, then having some practice runs. Base is Coyote Aluma-Hyde II with Krylon for pattern.

How old is your son? Does that base coat require baking? The gun turned out well.

He's 11, we used a Pine branch for the pattern. The AL II doesn't need baking, I did speed up the cure by letting it hang in the sun all day for a couple of days. The normal cure is about 7.

This is his hunting stick,.308 The old toe in the pic, got me again

My son's skills were still limited to finger-painting at that age.

It looks nice - I really like the camo pattern you gentlemen picked out, it looks like it would be quite effective during a fall hunting season.

Each one is one of a kind! Where we go, it's mostly brown, especially in the late firearms season.

Now if I can keep him awake!

    Hehehehe! Caught in the act!

Yes, we older folks have the pre-dawn coffee to keep awake, but the youngsters don't have the creaky bones that give away their position.

That really is a nice paint job and a very cool rifle. I used to fall asleep like that too when I was hunting with my dad. Dad, just wake me when you see a deer. LOL
