Some quick research on the 10m band tells me I want this capability. Combined with your experience, I'm on board.

Combined with Comtac IIIs, it sounds like it'll be a solid multi purpose setup on a rig.

    So I have to ask...

Why does NSW prefer 10-pin radio connectors to the standard 6-pin?

Not a big deal just have no knowledge.

    Thanks!

6-pin connectors are rated for 2m submersible.
10-pin connectors are rated for 20m submersible.

So Iíll ask a follow on...

Anyone messed with the TCA PRC-148 with crypto?

    As good as the TRI?

    Does it matter?

I have not, but’s it worth a try. The TCA will still run issued batteries, and will push any of the dynamic microphone equipped .mil accessories.

Figured it would do most things similarly. Honestly Iím not feeling that crypto is a big deal unless you were going against the current infrastructure. If that were the case, any crypto available to the populace would be outgunned by them anyway. Not that Iím advocating for that but just saying as an academic point. I like my TRI so far.

So what emergency frequencies do y’all monitor with your TRI radios?
