    First Aid Kit in Carryon

I am going back east next month and I am going to use my Mystery ranch 3 day hiking pack as my carryon. I will carry some of the things I always carry in my hiking pack on my trip, such as a first aid kit.The kit has a pair of tweezers and first aid scissors(the kind with the blunt tips). Do you guys think the first aid kit will be OK? thanks.

    Jim

The FAK in my go-bag includes trauma shears, hemostats, tweezer, suture kit, and a disposable scalpel. No problems with TSA.

    A handy reference:

    http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...ted-items.shtm

And here's an easy to print brochure, that politely points out one may not carry on hockey sticks, plastic explosives, or hand grenades.

    http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/prohib...s_brochure.pdf

Which is mighty thoughtful of them. I knew I could not lug a hockey stick on the bird, but was uncertain about the hand grenades.......

Limit your martial art weapons and throwing stars to checked luggage? A good Ninja will not have too!

I've had no issues with first aid kits in carry on. I generally take the knife out first though. Through the Xray machines, it didn't really stand out. I've asked as well and the TSA folk didn't really care.

The only big issues I've had with TSA thus far have been allowed items in my checked baggage...
