    Light / Muzzle Distance

How close to the muzzle can a light be safely mounted? I have a 7.5 inch upper and when mounted the lens is about even with the rear of the flash suppressor.

Mines about the same distance and works just fine.

Thanks for the reply. Judging from the pic and tagline, I assume many many rnds w/o a problem at that distance?

Just over 11K rounds, about 1/2 of that with a suppressor mounted.

Any issue with the lense fouling that close to the flash eliminator?

No the AAC Blackouts port on top directs the carbon away from the light.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but but any idea which other flash eliminators direct the carbon forward? The OEM one seems to direct it backwards as much as forwards.

the noveske KX3 might be your best bet for this purpose - it directs everything forward.

    I hear what you're saying, but I'm not after a KX3.

The rear of the slots on my Phantom are pretty much perpendicular to the bore, while the front of the slots are angles forward. I'm hoping to find something that has the rear of the slots angled forward as well.

Any other ideas? How are the rear of the slots cut on the Surefire flash eliminators?
