I've got the IOR 2-12x32 that I also bought from Scott@L.O., and it's not skipped a beat yet. I too wanted an "all around" scope for my more accurate AR, but didn't want the size of a full on 40+mm objective. The 2-12's 35mm tube is a little weird looking, being so fat, but you get used to it, and the F.O.V. is incredible.
Mine also uses the same MP-8 reticle, and all I have to say is that it is the best rangefinding mil-based reticle I've ever used, hands down.
Thinking hard about selling/trading mine though, I think I'm going to downsize to a 1-4x.

I've got one on my SPR. 2.5-10x42 FFP mil/mil with illumination. It is fantastic, very clear, gathers light well and the MP-8 is very easy to read and use.

I also got mine from Scott, and again, couldn't be happier with the service.

I will likely buy another for my 700.
