wow great looking 1911 and I love the lack of any lettering and such but why the machines on the slide is that just for looks or to lighten up the slide???

CTC + Surefire + Trijicon is sure the way to deploy a pistol in low light.

About the only thing I would do with that is to stipple the CTC grips ala Bowie Tactical.

    Very nice blaster.

    Stunning as always, Chuck!

I was staring at the lone dimple on the slide wondering what its purpose was, when it occurred to me that I haven't used a 1911 in so long I had forgotten how to disassemble one.

    Thanks!

    Vinh nailed it.
The heavy bevel on the slide bottom makes finding the relief cut for removing the slide stop difficult under certain lighting conditions. The dimple serves as a reference point for the relief.
The Surefire illustrated has been Cerakoted.
The grooves milled into the slide act as 'fullers', same as on a Kombat Nife.
I had fun building this one. I thought it was time to do a night theme pistol.

I sure do like posting pics!

I like that a lot. Everything you need with nothing you don't.
