Again, I don't think most shooters (at least the fudds I see at the range wouldn't) know what the colors mean and secondly I don't see a lot of interaction between shooters at the range - why should the color of the guys rifles 2 or 3 stalls down matter? I'm not interacting with him...

To each their own I guess, but I've never seen blue/red/orange weapons at the ranges I've been to and I really don't see it being an issue.

ok, i'm a mil guy, not a LEO/contractor etc., so the 'training' colors are something new to me. At the range all we have are 'real' weapons. The blank firing adaptor is red/yellow, but that's the BFA, not the weapon itself. On the internet, i've seen blue plastic non-weapons , i've seen less than lethal orange weapons, but never a red weapon. what does red signify in a training environment? Red usually means 'danger', so wouldn't red make someone apt to be more careful, rather than less careful, around a weapon?

I have seen blue as both simmunition and non-firing demonstrator. I have seen red as non-firing demonstrator too. Orange and yellow for less than lethal, bean bag, etc.

Come on guys! Who cares! If I am at the range or on the street and I see anything that looks like a weapon I treat it as a loaded weapon. Just because it's blue or red doesn't mean I take for granted that it's a training weapon. If that's the case nut bags will paint their weapons blue or red and hope the cops are confessed when confronted at gun point. Then they get the drop on the cops and get their shot off first.

And tell you what a fool you were. And you can reply by telling him you were a fool in love with your family, and happy.... is happy. Even if it's painted red.
