That's awesome! I had a mental image of an orange "safety" or "toy designator" fh and then saw this. LOL!I'm thinking just don't give kids toy guns and train them that all guns should be treated as real (don't point them at people unless justified). As previously stated, in a bug situation that may buy your kid a little time. Random bad guy says, "Oh, it's just a kid with a toy." BOOM! Two to the chest and one to the head (think The Patriot movie).
Sheesh, he only painted the furniture red, not the whole thing. Training weapons are totally red or blue molded plastic....and used by agencies...not private citizens at ranges.
Don't: point any firearm, no matter the color ,at anyone you don't wanna shoot. Don't...engage in FoF training with a live firearm, no matter the color...unless you are part of an agency using non-lethal sims with all the proper protocols in place.
THIS... might be a misdemeanor in some states... (The AR with the orange/red flash hider)
I completely agree with your comments that all guns should be treated as loaded guns, and I grew up in a household where my brother and I were not allowed to even "play guns" with sticks.
That said, I'd guess any member of law enforcement in your community would NOT appreciate that paint job.
To each his own...

I think the COD Modern Warfare inspired red tiger camo would be pretty neat to see.
Ive been kicking around the idea of painting my M4, but I just cant bring myself to do it.
for the record, i don't condone painting your muzzle devices orange, people- it was done as a gag photo-op only, and that particular muzzle device has been long since stripped back to original parker finish. please don't paint your muzzle devices orange.
airsoft toys have blaze orange tips so people won't SHOOT the person (kid) holding it. lets not totally nullify that indicator.
painting your muzzle device blaze orange is about as extreme as you can get, on this topic... but back to painting other colors, what difference could it possibly make? my blood-red AR is never going to be confused with a training or less-lethal weapon. when was the last time you saw a less lethal AR? and even if the possibility of confusion was there, who's going to be confused? the owner of the weapon? no.. the person he's shooting at? maybe, and maybe that's perfectly fine.
everyone has seen crazy paintjobs and anodize colors on ARs. can you seriously tell me you'd re-holster your weapon if the subject in question was holding a blue AR? if something that simple it gonna trip you up, you probably need to work on some things. 'cause if i'm in a situation where i've drawn a bead on someone who's holding anything that might be a weapon, i guarantee i will do nothing different if it's all black, tan, red, blue or blaze orange. my sights will stay on target until you cant use it against me, and i'm gonna light up if you point it at me. this should be everyone's policy.
if you don't want to die at the hands of someone with a painted AR, keep in mind people paint them. if you don't want to die at the hands of confused cops, don't put yourself in a situation where you'll be standing around holding a training AR surrounded by confused cops. two easy steps to long life.
