Nice setup
We had tons of these in Garmser.
Accidental discharge wasn't really an issue - but very few guys really used the lights at all.
That bit of added height brings it up to the PEQ2 dimension of height - can see around it fine with the TA31's, but minor issue for the Mk12 users who wanted to mount at 12:00 and not use the tape switch.
I made sure I got a PEQ15 and used my G2Z w/ LED head instead, and was much happier. If they can make a version of this with the WX-150 output, and more streamlined, then I'm on board.

Anybody know what backplate this is? I've got the light but it has the rocker arm switch backplate. I'd like to buy one of these but cannot find them on Insight's website.
Below is my current set-up;

I believe that's the SU-233, right?

MX3 - Long Gun, yep, issued as the SU-233 with one of the SOPMOD kit iterations.

A citizen noted the hammer back on the 1911 carried in the waist band by Charlie Miller, Texas Ranger. The Citizen asks, "Isn't That Dangerous?" Charley replied, " I wouldn't carry the son of a bitch if it wasn't dangerous."
You can't get the actual SU/233-PVS, but you can get a very very close model. Order the M3X-000-A23. The Remote part number is RMT-400-A8. There should be a LED model going out some time this summer.
I used the PEQ-16 in a schoolhouse for 3 months and ran a fair amount of non-illuminated fire and maneuver ranges and limited MOUT training with it mounted to an M-249. Currently I have a PEQ-15 mounted to my M-4. The PEQ-16 does a couple of things that a PEQ-15 can't but it doesn't do them very well. The light really isn't very good and it wears the battery out way to fast. Personally I'd rather have my white light and my IR on 2 different battery sources so if I'm trying to do something with white light and the battery dies I can fall back to non-illuminated. I think it would be better just to take the PEQ-15 and make it smaller and lighter than try to add more stuff to it.
