Is the green triangle that much brighter then the red in low light situations? This is my first experience with a Trijicon and I recently picked up a TR24R which I am pretty happy with. I went with red because I was used to a red dot from my Eotech and Aimpoints. But seeing some pics of the green and hearing that it does not wash out as much as the red if any makes me a little regretful I went with red.

By any chance does anybody have a side by side picture of the two different color recitals in a low light situation .

    Yeeouch!

I was hesitant to spend $770 shipped, as I have seen the other models for $650 shipped, depending on the reticle. But, I have been looking for this for 10 months, so what the hay. I'd be kicking myself if I didn't buy it and then Trijicon shows "40-50 WEEKS" on their site like it was shown this summer.

I don't know that it's an issue with it being any brighter, but more that the human eye recognizes and processes green faster than it does red. Either way, I can see the red just fine in low light situations.

I havent seen any low-light reticle pics of the red triangle. Here's my mini review with indoor & outdoor low-light pics with the TR24G: http://m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=35930

My camera hasn't cooperated with my attempts to get low/no light pics of the red reticle, but based on your pictures I'd say the green is definitely brighter in no-light. If there's the tiniest bit of ambient light, the red brightens up a lot, but running purely on the tritium is not as bright with red as shown in the other thread with green.

Mine is pretty much the same way. I can try to take some pics tonight of the red triangle in low to no light if anybody is interested.

Thanks Bro. I use a ruler with a comparison between an Aimpoint and the TR24 to demonstrate that the TR24 isn't truly a "true 1X" scope. I like your idea of the cables running through the fields of view, that, and you're just way better with a camera than I am.

Keep in mind that once you get out to 5+ yards, it appears that it is 1x. I think that being that close (16") to the cables from the end of the scope might have something to do with it, but you won't be shooting that close anways (hopefully not!) Normally, if an optic is magnified at all, you'll get some fisheye-ing when viewing stuff up close and moving it around (5-10yards), but like I said, outside of 5 yards, I can't really see any sort of magnification or fisheye-ing.

Good. Cause I was going to say, if that's 1X, then what is 1.25X?

Here are a few pics I took this evening. My tripod is at work somewhere and my hands are not that steady even with image stabilization so I could not get really good lowlight pics.

And last but not least a little extra that came with my Accupoint. A piece of lint behind the diopter. Trijicon customer service was great when I called and are going to send me a call tag so I can send it in ( 3 week turn around time) but after shooting with it that piece of lint is now stuck on the sidewall and I can not see it. So I am going to wait a few months before I send it in. Even when it was on the glass it was not visible using the scope .
