Some additional impressions that were captions for the article pics, were that the U/D and L/R were clearly marked, and although the adjustment screws had positive detents, they weren't stiff-- I could make adjustments with the corner of a staple in place of the always-forgotten screwdriver. I also found the detent values accurate-- an inch at 100 yards each as I recall (pretty sure).

Also, the YHM riser, while pretty long, only has a single clamp screw. This did not seem very robust to me.

My RDS has had the shroud's corners rounded pretty generously. Kinda unsightly but so are stitches. Rubber cover will not fit with the shroud in place.

I'm sure this setup is not nearly as knock-proof as any Aimpoint..... maybe with a better mount and shroud; one of the LaRues fits it but I never latched onto one.

Any updates after a couple years? Any of you guys who've been running these for awhile had any longevity issues?

“The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Put me in the unimpressed category. Pulled my rifle with the MRDS out of the safe today. It only saw 250 rounds and now works intermittently (mostly not at all). Installed a new battery and nothing. Tried another new battery and it came on. Tested the auto dim feature and it still worked. Racked the empty rifle to dry fire and the dot disappeared. No corrosion is visible inside. I'll contact the manufacturer Monday and see what they say.

It's a shame too. That optic has a lot of great features.
Before you suggest that licensing, background checks, or other restrictions for the 2nd Amendment are reasonable... Apply those same ideas to the 1st and 4th Amendments. Then tell me how reasonable they are.
